First, why vote for Bush?

10. Integrity
9. Honesty
8. Offense

6. The effect it will have on Al Gore....I'm betting his head will spin 360 degrees.
5. Elections in Afganistan
4. Sadaams nutty sons dead...Sadaam in an 8'x8' cell
3. Supreme court judge appointments
2. God is back in the whitehouse
1. Because we love our children

...and what's wrong with Kerry?

10. Truth challenged.
9. First lady Teresa (pronounced TERR-ehhh-zaaa) Heinz Kerry
8. Senate voting record against B1 bomber, B2 bomber, patriot missile, apache helicopter, abrams tank, missile defense, front door deadbolts (Ok, just kidding on that last one).
7. Proposed cutting intelligence budget by $6 billion AFTER the first World Trade Center bombing (what a great idea???*****!!!!)
6. Senate voting record concerning tax hikes (yikes!)
5. Senate voting record concerning tax cuts (yukes!)
4. Vietnam Veterans Against War participation.
3. Self-promoting arrogant French looking (I know he can't help that) United Nations backing (unless they back a war, a la Persian Gulf flavor) Neville Chamberlain wanna be (let's not give him the chance).
2. Secretary of State Ted Kennedy
1. Because we love our children

I just "crack" myself up.

Dear Bruce,

Interesting, but not very factual. You shouldn't believe everything http://www.davekopel.com/Terror/Fiftysix-Deceits-in-Fahrenheit-911.htm tells you...especially if you are concerned with people who "lie" as you accuse President Bush of doing. It's somewhat hypocritical.
If all of your friends believe that Iraq has turned into a "quagmire" (danger! danger! liberal talking point word) then perhaps you should consider making friends outside your comfortable box. You seem to think that if we had not gone into Iraq that all the terrorists that are cutting people's heads off now and blowing people up (mostly fellow moslems, by the way)would be gardening or working at the local Y with under-priveledged kids. NO! They would be scheming about how to blow up one of our embassies somewhere!

Open your eyes my friend.

Amen and well said. My sentiments exactly.

These retro-pinkos who posted here seem to "forget" the fact that Bush went to war with the approval of the UN and the US Senate, Senator Kedwards included.

What these lace-panty diplomats cannot seem to comprehend is that the difference between Bush and them is that Bush means what he says.

Bruce,
if you believe Bush should go to jail then I assume you would agree that Mr. Kerry as a self admitted war criminal should also be in jail.

I would also like to note that you presented opinion and made no demonstration that your opinion is based upon fact.

Bruce,

My friend, you show your ignorance concerning being a Born Again Christian. Murder is the purposefull taking of the life of an innocent and is morally wrong according to Christian-Judeo thinking. Abortion would be a good example of this. Killing hate filled terrorists before they kill us is called offensive "self-defence".
I would not force my children to enlist in the military anymore than I would force them to be architects. However, I am and will teach them the uniqueness of the United States of America. They will know our history and that freedom and liberty are not to be taken for granted. And if they choose to enlist, I will be proud and fully supportive of their desire to serve their country. Something that I wish I had done when I was a yute(youth), by the way.

..and lastly, not voting for Bush even though you agree with 90% of his policies is really silly. That means that you would rather give power to the man who you would most likely agree with only 10% of the time. Isn't that kind of like removing thou nose to spite thy face?

PS Is this Bruce aka "Silverback"?

Bruce,
I'm just wondering on what grounds you believe Bush might be impeached.

You may not know this, but your not liking Bush is actually not an impeachable offense.

Bruce,

You are right, it is for personal reasons that I support Bush. Those reasons are the safety of my kids and family.
I am sorry about your loss, assuming that you have lost someone dear to you in Iraq. But you shouldn't blame President Bush or the United States for your loss. you should blame the terrorists and the countries that support their activities.

Hello again Bruce,
I suspect you are not being genuine about being in 90% agreement with Mr. Bush. I suspect but obviously cannot know and then must take you at your word.

In going to war in Iraq president Bush did not commit an impeachable act.

While you may disagree with the war saying he should be impeached because of the war is not a responsible use of your freedom of speech.

No laws were broken in the committing of our troops.

No, I don't personally know any person who has died in Iraq.

I know one person who has served in Iraq however. He (and those he served with) love Bush and believe the war in Iraq is just.

As for your question about my 'kid', I wouldn't be happy with losing my child to cancer or war.

I would be proud of my child for serving our great nation. The choice to join the military would be theirs to make.

Iraq is not a disaster btw. It has been very successful as far as wars go.

So hear
are some of my thoughts to Bruce. Use them if they help any.

Ask him if we are still at war or has Al Queda and other
terrorist groups sent up a white flag and signed the surrender papers?
Ask him what happened to the U.S. in Sept. 2001 or is that too long
ago? Pres. Bush said that anyone who was harboring terrorists will be
in our cross hairs. Looks like we found a lot of them (terrorists) in
Iraq. When going to war it takes strategy, it means attacking our
enemy(s) on fronts that they don't expect and to put them on the
defense. The key thinking is the terrorist be on the defense, not the
U.S. I would think that we are achieving that with 1) Afghanistan
mostly liberated and 2) one harboring dictator down and most of Iraq
liberated. If Bruce thinks that these are failures then I guess he
thinks that WWII was a failure as well. It took 4 years to flush out
Nazi holdouts and about the same for Greece to flush out the communists
after "mission accomplished" in WWII. And that was after at least five
years of war. A total of Nine years that the Nazis were a "nuisance"
to this world. Kinda like gambling and prostitution I guess.

Thank goodness we didn't let the Bruces and Kerrys influence our
generals in WWII.

Bruce/Kerry talking, "Why are we going into Africa Gen. Montgomery from
England to fight Gen. Romel (sp.) of Germany. Get back over to Europe
and defend your homeland. Don't commit any U.S. troops to Africa.
Who cares about an African desert (oil?). FDR, stop fighting in the
Pacific! Those Japs are killing us! We need to restart negotiations to
find out why they don't like us . . . we are spreading our troops to
thin. . . too may U.S. casualties. One Nuisance, One war at a time.
If I were president I would send those ships over to Europe to help the
French. Thats all we can handle. We should only focus our attention
on saving England (maybe) and France. In my opinion, this war is a
failure FDR. Start the impeachment hearings."

And finally for the Bruces out their, I guess that you were hoping to
have this (our response to the Sept. 2001 attacks) disentangled or
resolved like a neatly laid out 60 minute tv drama. Thats all this MTV
generation can handle. Case in point. . . every motion picture movie
that runs over 90 minutes. Critics and audiences complain endlessly
about how the movie just goes on and on and. . . I'm sorry but real
life and real war doesn't work that way. The enemy has a way of
running over time.

Bottom line with our present day media with its capability of 24 hour
live "calamity only coverage" and its obvious tilt towards the liberal
side, can make many people not have the stomach to finish what THEY the
terrorists started. The media knows this and Bruce you have succumbed
to it.

I could go on about freedom and democracy but that would take a few
more paragraphs and I need to get going.

WE WERE ATTACKED, HAVE THEY SURRENDERED?

Analogy of the two presidential nominees: "Thanksgiving in Iraq to
Christmas in Cambodia". I like that one.

I'm Puerto Rico bound if Kerry elected,

Andrew

Bruce,
say it ain't so. You aren't really going to end the conversation now are you?

>>if you think losing out soldiers, thousands of wounded, wasting billions of dollars, destroying our environment, killing children, women and other innocent people, making the world much more unsafe, causing other countries to hate America, dividing our country (people) in half politically, etc. etc. is worth the war, when we could have accomplished the same thing another way, then God Bless you.<<

Bruce. Come on now.
No one wants to lose soldiers.
No one wants innocent children, women or men to die (except maybe Saddam and Osama... and maybe the French).

As for destroying our enviroment...
get back with me on Earth Day.
But not until after I have finshed decorating my earth day tree and have opened my earth day presents (I'm hoping to get the wife an electric car. Shhhh... don't tell her, it's meant to be a surprise).

As for other nations hating us.
Let's see..
Iran, an evil nation. I want them to hate us.
France, Germany socialist and evil light. I want them to hate us.

The UN (not a nation I know), I want them to hate us.
China, please hate us China.

I want evil nations and morally bankrupt nations to hate us.

Such nations and groups of people hating us is indication that we are different than them.
Indication that we are not like them.
I am happy when we can say that we are not like Iran or France, etc.

When we become like them (and I would say we are on our way to becoming a distant Euro nation. Especially if Kerry is elected) I will then be very worried.

>>PS: to the person that commented that I am disingenuous for saying I agree with 90%, but am voting the other way only because of the war – well believe it because that is the truth. You see having Bush would be better for me too, but I realize after seeing the men and women killed in the war and reading about what tremendous citizens they were that that is overriding over my personal interests. Just think about it someone dyed so you could go about your personal business and enjoy you life and most you don’t give it a second thought.<<

I din't say you WERE disingenuous.
I said I SUSPECTED yet had no way to confirm.

Your words do not match up with your claims.
I believe you give yourself away.

And, I AGAIN admit that I may well be wrong and that you may well be honest in what you say.

At any rate, good-bye for now Bruce.
Hope we happen across one another again.

One last thing Bruce,
I didn't notice that you said who you are to vote for (though I feel safe in assuming that you will not be voting for Bush).

Being that you will be voting against Bush I wonder, would you still choose Kerry over Bush if Kerry were still holding to the pro Iraq war position that he was only a short while ago?

btw, did you know Kerry voted against the first Gulf war even though it had just the coalition he say's he now wants?

Of course, we know he voted for the current war even though it did NOT have the coalition he say's he wants.

He is indeed a strange, tall, goose hunting man.

Thanks for posting Bruce. I have one last point to make. You said in your last post:

"the person that said he would feel fine if his child dyed in Iraq – I feel sorry for you."

The problem is, nobody EVER made that statement. You see, this is a perfect case of a mind who only reads and sees what they want to see. You will embrace everything that appears to support your position, even if it is blatantly false or a ridiculous stretch. But you will CHOOSE to ignore the obvious if it is contrary to your position. This is not very intelectually honest.

This is exactly what you are doing with the Iraq issue.

Take Care
